for information click here

Welcome to the FFORNE website.

FFORNE is a cooperative of land owners in North East and Central Victoria who plan to be a major supplier of high quality sawlogs to the timber processing industry by 2015.

The FFORNE Hardwood Cooperative was formally registered in 1999 with an 8-member Board and the 70 members are presently growing 1700ha of native trees.which are being managed for high quality sawlog prooduction.

FFORNE will continue to expand their area of plantations each year by developing a land bank and matching investors and growers to achieve trees in the ground for both sawlogs and carbon offsets. FFORNE is interested in farm plantations as a diversified farming interest, rather than the broad monoculture corporate plantations.

FFORNE is keen to speak to landowners who are interested in growing trees or having trees grown on their land. A FFORNE representative will come to your site and discuss the various options available, with no obligation.

WHY NATIVE SPECIES HARDWOOD PLANTATIONS ARE GOOD FOR FARMS AND TIMBER RESOURCES IN VICTORIA:

TIMBER RESOURCES IN VICTORIA

The FFORNE project has the potential to:

Native species plantations for timber and carbon sequestration can be an integral part of a diverse farming business.

An opportunity for investors and landowners.

FFORNE can offer services for investors and landowners; to assess land, organise the planting of suitable species and manage projects for carbon credits and high quality timber.

All FFORNE projects are recorded on land titles. It is possible for three interested parties to become involved in a farm plantation. The landowner provides the area to plant the trees, the tree owner owns the trees and the carbon is bought by a third party for offset purposes.

If you are interested in becoming an investor, owning trees without the pressures of land ownership, or simply growing your own plantation, please contact Graeme Stoney on 0428 576 090 or graeme.stoney@fforne.com.au.
